A bit of our origin

Our story

1976

A finish carpenter

Hamish Anderson started in the construction industry as a finish carpenter, focused mainly on commercial construction. Over the next ten years he gained a vast knowledge of unique types of construction, as well as a work ethic that was client centered and meticulous. As a finish carpenter by trade, the details mattered to him.
1990

The first company

In an effort to make a life for his growing family, Hamish Anderson founded his first company with the incorporation of Novelty Homes.
1992

A new name

After having completed a handful of successful projects, Novelty Homes was amended to Hamish Anderson Custom Homes in October of 1992, a name it holds to this day.
2010

A family business

It has always been Hamish’s desire to share his love of construction with his family. In 2010, Hamish hired his first son Colin into the business, where he currently works as its senior construction manager. Several years later, Hamish’s second son Jared also joined the team.
2011

Best Builder

Hamish Anderson Custom Homes was voted Best Builder by 425 Magazine, which remarked: “Tailoring living spaces to an individual or family’s unique need is Hamish Anderson’s passion. Attention to detail, quality materials and construction, and 32 years in the business put this high-end home builder on the top rung.”

Hamish Anderson Custom Homes has grown to nine employees, with projects spanning throughout the greater Seattle area and the Eastside.
